The three privacy levels
Every post and photo has three levels: anyone with the link, my tree, or close family only.
Whenever you post or upload a photo you choose who sees it:
- Anyone (with the link): the post gets a public link that anyone can open without an account. Use it to share outside the family.
- My tree: everyone in your family tree, and only them. This is the usual choice.
- Close family: your nearest relatives only: parents, siblings, spouse and children, worked out automatically.
Where do I find it?
Beside the post button in Posts, when uploading photos, and for profile pictures in the tree. Each item shows an icon with its level, and you can change it later.
A close-family post does not reach, by an @ mention, someone who is not close.
Your personal details (phone, email, birth date...) have their own settings: profile privacy.
