Smart alerts and the bell

Short alerts remind you of birthdays, payments and what is missing, and the bell keeps what you missed.

Smart alerts

Small windows that appear while you browse. The most important are those that truly concern you:

  • Birthdays and anniversaries coming up, with a ready WhatsApp greeting.
  • The next step in your tree, and a relative joining through your invitation.
  • Reviewing your privacy, uploading your photo, and writing your first post.
  • Share payments due to pay or to confirm: paying and confirming.
  • Writing or reviewing your legacy message: legacy messages.
  • Sharing your number with the family: Family phone directory.

The Hide button postpones an alert for about a month. Important news is also kept in the bell so it is not lost if you miss it.

The bell

The bell icon at the top shows your notifications: mentions, shares, replies and more. Press one to open the page it concerns and mark it read, or open the notifications page and mark all as read.

How often do they appear?

A visit starts quietly: no alert in the first two minutes, nor in the first half minute of each page. An alert never appears while you are browsing; it waits until you pause for a moment. After that it never goes faster than your chosen pace (every 1, 3, 6, 10 or 30 minutes, or Off, counted across pages), and at most 4 alerts in one visit. Choose the pace from your profile: alert timing.
