Family phone directory

The Family phone directory gathers the numbers your family needs in one place, ordered A to Z with a letter index at the top, like a printed phone book.

What is in it?

• Emergency numbers, always at the top: the national numbers of your country (police, ambulance, fire) are added automatically as soon as your country is set, followed by local ones your admins add, such as the nearest hospital.
• Services such as a grocery that delivers, a plumber or a pharmacy, each with a short hint like "delivers all food needs", opening hours and the area.
• Family members who chose to share their numbers.

How do I use it?

• Type a name, a number or a word from the hint in the search box, or pick a category. Arabic spelling variants (hamza, ta marbuta) are matched.
• Press the phone icon to call, WhatsApp to message, and the star to add the number to your favorites.
• Save to my contacts downloads the numbers as a file your phone opens, and Print gives you a paper directory or a PDF for the fridge.

Add a number, or suggest one

The tree admin and its admins add numbers directly and decide whether a number is for your family only or on the public page. Anyone else presses Suggest a number: it goes to the admins and is shown to everyone only after they approve it.

Wrong or old number?

Press the flag to report that a number is wrong; when two people report it, the admins see a warning on it. A number not checked for a year shows "May be outdated". An admin calls it and presses I called it: it works to clear the mark.

Sharing my number

Your number is shown to nobody unless you choose. Press Share my number and pick who sees it: the whole family tree, only your close family, or admins only. Whoever may not see it gets a lock instead of the number. You can change the choice or stop sharing at any time. Numbers of minors (under 18) and of people who passed away are never shown. This choice is separate from your profile privacy.

The public page (admins)

An admin presses Public link at the top of the page (it goes to the section at the bottom) to create a link that anyone can open without an account. The section shows the link with Copy and Open the page buttons, and says exactly what the link shows: the national emergency numbers of your country (added automatically) and the numbers you marked public. Your own numbers are not public until you choose: press Make all numbers public, or the globe button on one number to put just that one on the page (press it again to take it back). Members' numbers never appear. The link can be replaced or turned off at any time.

The directory is one of the core sections: it always works for every family, cannot be switched off, and never needs a paid plan.
