Inviting a relative to take their place in the tree
After you add a relative to the tree, send them a link that takes them straight to their place to complete their details.
When you add a relative to the tree the app offers to send a WhatsApp message with their own link, and you can send it later as well. This link is for that person only.
What happens when they open it?
- Your relative goes straight to their own place in the tree, with no sign-up first and nobody to approve them, and can look around and review the tree.
- A banner asks them to secure their account: they type their email and choose a password.
- They get an email to confirm their address, then complete their details in their profile (photo, birth date, phone and more) and edit them any time.
Good to know
- The link works for its owner only and ends as soon as they choose a password. If you send a new link to the same person, the old one stops.
- No new person is created: the account is attached to the place you added, and the family relations stay as they are.
- The link is only for someone without an account, and not for someone who has passed away.
- The action is recorded in Family activity.
