Family branches: share with your branch only
A branch is a relative with all their descendants. Share posts, photos and events with your branch only; branch admins run its events.
In big families people sometimes want to share with their branch only. A branch is a chosen relative with all their descendants and their spouses, and it follows the tree automatically: every new baby joins its branch by itself.
For the family creator and admins
- From the Admin menu open Family branches.
- Choose the relative the branch starts from, name it (for example "Uncle Ahmed's branch") and press Create.
- Name one or two branch admins among the branch's members.
For branch members
- When you write a post or upload a photo, a My branch choice appears between "My tree" and "Close family". Only the members of your branch see it, not even the family creator if they are not in it.
- When you create an event choose Only the branch: nobody else sees it and it is not announced on the family wall. The branch admin can edit it.
- Find your branches and their members under My profile, then My branches.
If a branch is deleted, what was shared with it goes back to close family (never more open than before) and its events become private. Creating and changing branches is recorded in Family activity.
