The Quran: memorisation and review plan
Memorise with a plan, review what you memorised by reciting from memory, and let the app choose what to review today within your time.
The Quran module helps you memorise and keep what you memorised. The Quran page opens with one question: what do I review today?
Where do I start?
On the first visit the Quran page asks once: from the beginning (Al-Fatiha to An-Nas, 1 to 114) or from the end (An-Nas back to Al-Fatiha, 114 to 1, starting with the short surahs). You can change the order at any time with "Change the order" or in the settings (which also has other orders: random, by Juz and your own list), and nothing you memorised is lost. The memorising card always shows where you are: the surah you started ("Continue: ...") or the next surah in your order.
Finishing a surah and today's goal
When you finish a surah you get a congratulation and go back to the Quran page to see what is left and what to review; the app does not open another surah by itself. When you reach today's goal (from the settings) a light congratulation appears, and you may stop or keep going.
Memorising
Press Start memorisation and tick each verse you memorise; you see today's progress against your goal. You can read the tafseer while memorising. When you finish about ten verses they become a passage that joins the review automatically and is reviewed tomorrow. (A short surah is one passage. What you memorised before this update is turned into passages spread over the next week, so no pile of work lands on you.)
The Mushaf page while memorising
By default you focus on the current verse: listen, repeat, then tick it. The Show the Mushaf page button shows the page of that verse in Mushaf order, with the verse you are learning highlighted and what you memorised in green, with the page number, the juz and arrows to move between pages, so you build the visual memory of where the verse sits. The app remembers your choice. The text follows the Mushaf's page division and the exact line layout may differ from your printed Mushaf.
Today's review
- The list is filled to your own minutes (10, 15, 20 or 30 from the settings): the most urgent first, then the late ones, then what is due today, with an estimate for each passage. What does not fit waits for the coming days instead of piling up.
- The Quick 10 minutes button builds a short session from the most important passages.
Reciting from memory
- The passage opens with the text hidden. Recite aloud from memory.
- Show each verse (ask for the first words if you are stuck) and answer honestly: I knew it, Hesitated or Forgot.
- Your answer is saved and the passage's next date is set.
How the next date is chosen
- Knew it: the gap grows (3 days, then doubling up to two months). Three good reviews in a row make a passage strong.
- Hesitated on many verses: it comes back sooner.
- Forgot a verse: the passage returns tomorrow and is marked weak until it settles.
- A passage more than two weeks past its date shows as at risk.
This is your own honest assessment, not a judgement of your recitation or tajweed, and the app does not show a scientific "retention" percentage.
Continue-the-verse test
It shows a verse you memorised and you recite the next one from memory. A slip there brings that passage's review closer.
Weak spots
A page built from your own answers: the passages that need work and the verses you slipped on in the last two months, with a map coloured by each surah's passages (strong, recent, weak, at risk).
Settings and statistics
In the settings: memorisation order, your daily goal in verses, your daily review time and the tafseer. The statistics show your progress in numbers.
For a group reading with the family use the Quran reading type in Shares, and its thirty parts are shared among relatives.
